Then, in June, they had another get together after work. Sam and I had just had an argument - about his continued friendship with Missy. She and Drea and another friend of theirs had followed us to the coast on a recent trip we'd taken and it was all a bit too much for me.
Sam had a friend of his over in addition to Missy. After the friend left, Missy stayed and she and Sam continued to drink. At some point, they exchanged a prolonged hug and had some kind of discussion or exchange about doing something more, where a decision was made not to. Sam doesn’t remember exactly what transpired, but it wasn’t anything that was memorable enough to have made a strong impression. Missy left around 11 that evening and sent Sam a message via FB Messenger that said “Woot!” To which Sam’s reply was “If you came back right now I would make a different decision.” Missy says no, but thanks him - twice - and tells him her “ego needed that.” Sam then continues to ask her to return several times with Missy saying no, but also encouraging him for about an hour, UNTIL she starts participating in a graphic sexual exchange with him. They go back and forth for a while with this, frankly gross, exchange until it seems they both fall asleep.
The following morning when Sam sends her another series of seemingly confused messages saying he wanted resolution and to chat about it, Missy holds firm and says she wasn’t and isn’t confused. The conversation ends with Missy saying she wasn’t hurt and everything is cool and “big hugs.” That was June 15, 2021.
About a month later, on July 9, when my message about these people being utterly toxic finally broke through, Sam blocked Drea, Missy, and a handful of others from their friends circle and the Church of Decemberism Facebook group and sent a final message to Missy - “K.”
